Find out about the sports classes offered by RSU and the trainers who lead them to learn more about the physical activities available.
With the opening of the new RSU sports complex, RSU GYM also begins its activities, offering subscriptions and classes to RSU students, employees and anyone interested.
Subscriptions will be available in the new RSU GYM app, where you can choose your user status. The app will be available soon.
Subscriptions can only be purchased and paid for in the app – it will not be possible to pay on site at the sports club.

- Interval training
Dynamic interval training to build strength and endurance. Using body weight and various equipment, the workout targets the whole body. Varying intensity helps improve fitness, coordination and overall work capacity.

- Body toning
Full-body strength training to strengthen and tone muscles, improve body composition and support overall physical well-being. The class combines strength and functional exercises, with the intensity adapted to different fitness levels.

- Booty & abs
A class focused on strengthening the glutes and abdominal muscles. The workout helps build core strength, improve stability and strengthen the glutes.

- Strong body
Full-body strength training in the gym to develop muscle strength, endurance and movement quality. The class uses free weights and machines to help build a strong and functional body.

- Super core
A class focused on strengthening the deep core muscles. The workout targets the stabilising muscles of the abdomen, back and pelvis, developing strength, balance and body control. A strong core helps improve stability in both everyday movements and sports activities.

Classes
- Functional training
A medium to high-intensity class combining different types of exercise and engaging all major muscle groups. Exercises are adapted to different fitness levels and use equipment such as dumbbells, resistance bands, kettlebells, steps and TRX.

- Movement & mind practices
The class is divided into two parts. The first combines low-intensity exercises in flowing sequences, focusing on lymphatic activation, gentle dynamic joint mobility and movement in different planes. The second part includes a meditation focused on releasing tension, relaxing the body and calming the mind.

- Pilates
A class suitable for all fitness levels, focusing on strength, flexibility, breathing control and overall body awareness. Dumbbells, resistance bands and other equipment may be used to vary the exercises and adapt the intensity to participants’ needs.

Mārtiņš Markovs
- RSU graduate with a qualification in physiotherapy
- Graduate of the RSU Health Sports Specialist programme and holder of a fitness trainer certificate

- Experience in training the Latvian bobsleigh team, powerlifting and functional fitness
- Currently studying in the Sports Science master’s programme at the University of Latvia
Classes
- Strength training
A classic strength training class focused on developing muscle strength and mass. The workout emphasises fundamental strength exercises such as squats, deadlifts and various pushing and pulling movements. The class takes a practical, goal-oriented approach, using effective exercises to build strength and improve overall fitness.

Raela Vītola
- Certified Mat Pilates instructor at PiYo Studio
- Holds a certificate in the fundamentals of mat Pilates
- Completed C-level coaching courses at the Sports Education Academy and is currently working towards certification

A class focusing on conscious breathing and correct exercise technique using a mat and body weight. The class helps improve awareness and activation of different muscle groups while developing body control and movement quality.

- Has practised Zumba for more than 10 years

An energetic and easy-to-follow dance fitness class combining four basic Zumba rhythms – salsa, merengue, cumbia and reggaeton – with a variety of Latin and international music. The class is suitable for all fitness levels and requires no previous dance experience. The main goal is to move, enjoy the music and have fun.
