Basketball (men's): RSU/VEF Rīga is a men's basketball team jointly formed by Rīga Stradiņš University and the basketball club VEF Rīga. It serves as an important development stage for young basketball players, providing them with the opportunity to gain high-level game experience and at the same time combine professional growth in sports with studies.
RSU/VEF Rīga plays in the Latvian National Basketball League and participates in the Latvian championship. The team regularly fights for the highest places, and in the 2025/2026 season it won the title of champion of the National Basketball League for the first time in the history of RSU.

Basketball (women's): The women's basketball of the Rīga Stradiņš University is represented by two teams - RSU and RSU-2 , creating a unified system for the development and growth of players.
RSU plays in the Latvian Women's Basketball League (LSBL) top division and the Baltic Women's Basketball League.
RSU-2 plays in the Latvian Women's Basketball League (LSBL) top division and the Baltic Women's Basketball League 2nd division.
Both teams are united by the opportunity to combine high-level sports with studies at Rīga Stradiņš University. In the 2025/2026 season, RSU's first team won the title of Latvian vice-champions, while RSU-2 ended the season with bronze medals.

Volleyball (women's): The RSU women's volleyball system consists of the RSU and RSU-2 teams, providing players with the opportunity to develop and gain competition experience at different levels.
RSU plays in the Baltic Women's Volleyball League, as well as participates in the Latvian Championship and the Latvian Volleyball Cup.
RSU-2 plays in the National Volleyball League and participates in the Latvian Championship.
The first team of RSU has consistently proven its place among the strongest teams in both Latvia and the Baltics in recent years. In the 2025/2026 season, the team became Latvian champion for the third year in a row, won the Latvian Cup for the second year in a row, and won bronze medals in the Baltic League.

Volleyball (men's): The RSU men's volleyball system consists of teams Robežsardze/RSU and RSU-2. This collaboration began in 2025, when RSU entered into a long-term partnership with the Baltic League team "Robežsardze/Rīga".
Robežsardze/RSU competes in the Baltic League and the Latvian Championship.
RSU-2 competes in the National Volleyball League and the Latvian Championship.
In the very first season of the partnership, Robežsardze/RSU achieved impressive results: during the 2025/2026 season, the team became Latvian champions and won the silver medal in the Baltic League. In the Latvian Cup, the team reached the final, finishing in second place after a five-set match.

Handball (women's): RSU women's handball team is one of the leading women's handball teams in Latvia. Since 2024, the team has been part of the RSU Sports Club, following the university's takeover of LSPA sports teams.
The RSU women's team competes in the Baltic League and participates in the Latvian Championship and the Latvian Handball Cup.
2025/2026 season was particularly successful for the RSU women's handball team: they won the Latvian Cup for the second consecutive year. This season also marked RSU's debut in the Baltic Handball League, where they placed 6th in a competition of eight teams.

Handball (men's): RSU also offers the opportunity to train and develop skills in men's handball with the HK Ogre/RSU team.
The team will compete in the Latvian Higher League championship and the Baltic League Division B.

Applications are open to players with prior handball experience. To sign up for training, please email the coach with the subject line "APPLICATION FOR MEN’S HANDBALL" and include a brief description of your previous playing experience.
Ice hockey (men's): The RSU ice hockey system consists of two teams - HK Mogo/RSU and the RSU team—offering the opportunity to represent the university at various competitive levels.
HK Mogo/RSU competes in the top division of Latvian ice hockey and participates in the Latvian Championship. In recent years, the team has consistently reached the championship's decisive matches and solidified its position among the elite of Latvian ice hockey.
In the 2025/2026 season, Mogo/RSU became Latvian champions for the third consecutive year, securing the club's fifth national title. During the season, the team also performed successfully on the international stage, reaching the final tournament of the IIHF Continental Cup.
The RSU team competes in the E3 division of the Enthusiast Hockey League.

Swimming: The RSU swimming team brings together university students who represent RSU in Latvian student swimming competitions. Team members compete in both individual events and relays, facing off against the top swimmers from other Latvian higher education institutions.
At the 2025/2026 Latvian Universiade, the RSU women's team took first place in the overall team standings, while the men's team finished second. RSU swimmers also represent the university at the international level; for instance, RSU student Kristiāna Maskava-Pudāne competed as part of the Latvian national team at the 2025 World University Games.

Cheerleading team: The RSU cheerleading team brings together students who train in cheerleading disciplines and enrich university sports and student life with their performances.
Team members develop skills in dance, acrobatics, strength, and teamwork while creating dynamic, high-energy routines. Training sessions take place several times a week, and the team performs at RSU sports team matches.

Football (men's): FK RSU/JFS is a men's football team formed through a partnership between Rīga Stradiņš University and the Jūrmala Football School.
In the 2026 season, the team competes in the Latvian "Dali Dali" 3rd League and participates in the Latvian Futsal Cup.
The season runs from April/May through September.
The team's roster consists of both RSU footballers and trainees from the Jūrmala Football School. One of the main goals of this partnership is to facilitate the transition for young players from youth football to the senior competitive level.

Rugby (men's, women's): RSU collaborates with the "Livonia" rugby club, providing opportunities for both women's and men's rugby.
The RSU/Livonia women's team competes in the Latvian Rugby-7 Championship and other national-level competitions. The team combines experienced players with young talent, forming a competitive squad within Latvian women's rugby.
The RFC Livonia men's team competes in the Latvian Championship.
The rugby season runs from May to September.
